On October 29, 2022 while studying abroad Anne Marie Gieske died tragically in a crowd surge in South Korea. She died 5 days after her 20th birthday. While Anne Marie is sorely missed, her life continues to have an impact on those who knew her. Anne Marie was fun, talented and full of love for anyone she met. While being an introvert, she was very engaged in the culture. She had her quirks, mistakes and imperfections just like any young woman of today. What made Anne Marie different is that she was also… holy. We knew Anne Marie was close to God, but we had no idea how close of a relationship she had with God until we read her prayer journal. We invite you to find the source of Anne Marie’s joy. It is our hope that through Anne’s story and faith, this troubled world will be a better place.
